Your creativity didn't disappear, it was consumed by everything you were told to become. As a child, I remembered the first time I learnt about sentence structures and novels. It amazed me.
There was a certain art in the way the words moved or flowed to convey brilliant idea.
Then it was gone. As quickly as it came.
As the world, parents, grades and superficial guidelines on how we must live outlives come crashing down.
We also unlearnt that creative ability and let it grow stagnant. Maybe because it wasn't cool or profitable in the eyes of others. We neglected that spark until we wake up one day, and realise how quiet it suddenly is. Unable to hear the almost unbearable torrent of thoughts and ideas that we once had.
Now you sit here reading this. Wondering... how can I experience that again? Even a fraction of that child like imagination.
The answer has come full circle. At least it has for me.
The answer are in the words that I write.
The answer is in the ability to write and paint your thoughts into words, that you deconstruct, assemble and ship in it's simplest form.
Now the seed has been planted. Nurture and care for it closely this time.
Be deliberate to consume only what demands creation in response.
Selective consumption, indiscriminate creation.
